Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A rare occurrence in the Las Vegas area and Clark County took place on Monday when a tornado was spotted.
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has confirmed that a weak tornado briefly touched down just west of Nelson's Landing, about an hour southeast of Las Vegas.
"My husband says it looks like a tornado over there, and I said no maybe the clouds are just spinning. So we pulled over and I said, 'Oh yeah, it is spinning.' So we took some pictures and watched it come down behind the mountain," said Andrea Lynn Henry.
The tornado hit around 12:40 p.m. on Monday and was only on the ground for 30 seconds.
No damage was reported and it was the first tornado to hit Clark County since April 21, 2001.
