Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One of Santa's helpers took to the streets on Monday to help prevent accidents on our local roadways.
A North Las Vegas police officer dressed up like an elf, then walked back and forth across the street in a marked crosswalk.
Anyone who didn't stop was slapped with a $300 fine.
He wore the costume to make him visible to drivers so they couldn't use not seeing him as an excuse.
72 people were cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Six drivers were handed speeding tickets, and ten people were cited for using their cell phones behind the wheel.
