Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police have released more details into Monday's officer-involved shooting.
At approximately 1 p.m., the LVMPD Call Center received numerous calls reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence located on the 7600 block of Calico Fields Street.
The reports further indicated a male was possibly armed.
Patrol officers responded to the residence and began to set up a perimeter. The officers attempted to establish communication with the occupants of the residence via telephone and bullhorn.
As officers approached the residence, they observed a male behind a vehicle wearing a mask, hat and sunglasses. Officers gave the suspect verbal commands which he disregarded.
The suspect then advanced on the officers with a large knife raised over his head. Officers fired a low lethality shotgun as well as handgun to stop the suspect's attack.
The suspect fell to the ground where he was taken into custody and transported to UMC Trauma Center.
The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Kyle Kuhn. Kuhn has been booked in absentia and has been charged with resisting a police officer with a weapon, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer and domestic violence battery.
This was the LVMPD's 14th officer-involved shooting this year.
The identity of the officer involved in this incident will be released after 48 hours.
