Police called to standoff near Oakey and Arville

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police and SWAT were called to the scene of a standoff in the 4600 block of West Oakey Boulevard, just west of Arville Street.

The incident began around 9:10 a.m. on Thursday at the Sandpiper Apartments.

Police went to the location in response to a domestic disturbance call. A man inside the residence refused to come out.

There was a warrant out on him.

Police said they are also investigating a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, in connection with the domestic violence call.

According to police, the man was the only person in the apartment. Nearby apartments were evacuated as a precaution.

The standoff ended just before 1 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, 28-year-old Darrion Webster was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

He was booked on the following charges: Domestic battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, coercion with force or threat of force, and attempt to resist a public officer with a deadly weapon.
