Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police were called to the scene of a serious crash near South Buffalo Drive and West Tropicana Avenue.
The crash was reported at 1:44 a.m.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling south on South Buffalo Drive when the car when through a light at West Tropicana Avenue and crashed into a concrete barrier.
Police said the 27-year-old male passenger has "unsurvivable" injuries. They also said 23-year-old Kristiana Dimcheva was drunk at the time of the crash. In addition, they found alcohol and marijuana in the car.
The passenger was transported to University Medical Center Trauma. Dimcheva was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and transported to Clark County Detention Center.
The intersection was closed for a little more than 2 hours before the crash was cleared.
If the male passenger dies, it will be the 36th traffic-related fatality this year in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction.
