Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- In its inaugural year, the Life Is Beautiful Festival finished up on a sour note after a decorative pillar collapsed into a crowd, injuring three people.
One of the pillars at the main entrance gate came unhinged from its support base and after a gust of wind, came crashing down into a line of ticket holders.
Minor injuries were treated by on-site paramedics and the three injured people were released back into the festival. But despite a year of planning, the accident put a kink in operations.
"It's a bit of an inconvenience because we had to switch lines and it was super long," Casey Dubois told Action News.
With tickets at more than $100 a piece, festival goers weren't about to let any obstacles get in the way of their fun. About sixty thousand people showed up over the course of the two-day festival, representing fifteen countries and dozens of states.
With sixty bands to see, works by local and international artists, and live cooking demonstrations from eighty renowned chefs, festival goers say Life Is Beautiful was well worth the money and the hassle.
"We came together from Phoenix," Mark Anthony Melonson said. "This makes me want to come back, this is definitely going to be my event every year."
