Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Here is a roundup of happenings and news on the Las Vegas Strip (or not far from it) for Oct. 14-21.


Styx at The Pearl
Tickets for a concert by Styx inside The Pearl at The Palms go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 18. Tickets start at $40 plus taxes and fees. Styx is a popular rock band that became famous for its albums from the mid 1970s to 1980s. They are known for their mixture of hard rock guitar and strong ballad. Some of their best known songs are "Come Sail Away," "Too Much Time on My Hands" and "Mr. Roboto." More info

New pizza bar happy hour
Allegro at Wynn Las Vegas has introduced a Pizza Bar Happy Hour from 3 to 5:30 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Enjoy one of Chef Enzo Febbraro’s specialty wood fired pizzas priced from $18 to $21 and endless draft Stella Artois or Blue Moon beers for $25. Guests can also view weekend football games on big screen televisions throughout the bar area. More info

'Last Vegas' red carpet
The stars of the soon-to-released movie "Last Vegas" will walk the red carpet at 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at Haze Nightclub at the Aria. Stars expected to attend include Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, Kevin Kline, Mary Steenburgen, Jerry Ferrara, and Romany Malco.

Celebrity colorist's salon to help fight breast cancer
COLOR -- A Salon by Michael Boychuck inside Caesars Palace will donate services to all Caesars employees including haircuts, blow-drys and spray tans on Oct. 15 for a suggested minimum donation. All proceeds, including gratuities, will be donated to American Cancer Society.

Rockhouse Beer Pong
Head over to Rockhouse in the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian for beer pong every Tuesday night. Play begins at 9 p.m. and all employees of The Venetian, The Palazzo, Grand Canal Shoppes and all local industry with valid ID can play for free and enjoy an open bar access by emailing toc@therockhousebar.com. Locals and tourists can purchase tournament entry and open bar access for $25. Prizes awarded and food specials available. More info

Megastunt over Las Vegas Strip
Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil and Gibbon Slacklines will showcase daredevil slackline athlete Andy Lewis' attempt to set the world record for the longest urban highline walk outside the 63rd floor of Mandalay Bay and House of Blue Foundation Room. Simultaneously, three of the world's top professional slackliners will perform tricks on individual slacklines rigged at the same breathtaking height. This MEGASTUNT kicks off the 2013 World Slackline Federation (WSFed) Slackline World Cup Finals taking place inside the Michael Jackson ONE Theatre Thursday, Oct. 17. The MEGASTUNT is scheduled to take place between 2 and 3 p.m. Oct. 16. The World Cup Finals will take place 1-5 p.m. Oct. 17.

Share Our Strength's Taste the Nation
More than 35 Las Vegas chefs will participate in the city's premier culinary benefit. Taste the Nation raises money for efforts to end childhood hunger. In addition to food and drinks, there will be a silent auction and a live auction. Chefs from Mandalay Bay, The Venetian/Palazzo, Andrea's at Encore, Lakeside at Wynn, STK at The Cosmopolitan, Sushi Roku and more will participate. The event begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in Rain Nightclub at The Palms. Tickets are $100 general admission, $125 for VIP. More info

20th Anniversary of "Rudy"
Brendan Theatres at The Palms will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the iconic movie "Rudy" on Oct. 17. Celebrity guests will include the film's star Sean Astin, writer Angelo Pizzo, and the inspiration for the movie -- Rudy Ruettiger. Red carpet at 5 p.m. followed by a VIP reception and then a special screening. Tickets are $45 to $145. More info

Artist Sean Mellyn at The Cosmopolitan
P3Studio has announced a unique opportunity to create art with artist Sean Mellyn Oct. 17-Nov. 1. Mellyn's project, Blind Contour, invites guests to take a seat opposite the artist at one of the two easels facing each other inside the studio and using charcoal, create a blind contour drawing of him as he makes a blind contour drawing of them. The drawings will then be displayed in the studio. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. There is no cost.

Fabrik Fridays
Fabrik Fridays, a weekly tribute to fashion at SHe by Morton’s inside The Shops at Crystals, announces the fall fashion show lineup. The new dates will feature shows by Eccoci, Beach Bash and Halloween Mart featuring Coquette. Fashion shows take place at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 p.m. each Friday and feature designer-clad models, tasty fare and Bacardi drink specials. Eccoci at Boca Park will be featured Oct. 18; Beach Bash on Oct. 25; and Halloween Mart featuring Coquette on Nov. 1. More info

Party With A Purpose
The Rape Crisis Center is inviting everyone to show its support and buy a ticket and "party with a purpose" from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 17 at TAO Beach at The Venetian. The party will feature drinks, appetizers, entertainment and raffle prizes. Tickets are $60 each. If you purchase tickets in advance, you could win a pair of tickets to see a Justin Timberlake performance. Music by DJ BRadical. More info

'Last Vegas' stars receive key to the city
The stars of "Last Vegas" will receive keys to the city at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at The Fountains of Bellagio. Expected to attend are Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, Kevin Kline, Mary Steenburgen and director Jon Turteltaub. The public is invited to attend and watch.

Foodie Fest
The Las Vegas Foodie Fest returns to the Silverton Oct. 18-20, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas. The fest will feature 30 food trucks and vendors, including White Castle. Other trucks include The Buttermilk Truck, BACONMANia, White Rabbit, Fist of Fusion and Fukuburger. There will also be a beer garden, car show and carnival. More info

Fashion for Autism Awards Dinner & Fashion Show
The 4th annual Fashion For Autism: An Evening of Fashion, Fun and Fundraising is taking place 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Four Seasons hotel. Proceeds will benefit Grant a Gift Autism Foundation. Fashions will be featured from retail boutiques located at Miracle Mile Shops. The event will also honor Dave and Mindy Rice, Congressman Joe Heck and others. Individual tickets are $175. Australian Bee Gees & Taylor Hicks at Hofbrauhaus
The Australian Bee Gees and  singer Taylor Hicks will be the special celebrity guests during Oktoberfest celebrations at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 and 19 at Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas.

Brian Wilson with Jeff Beck
Music icons and Grammy Award winners Brian Wilson (Beach Boys) and Jeff Beck (Yardbirds) will perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 18 at The Pearl inside The Palms. Tickets start at $40. More info

Matsuri Japanese Fall Festival
The 4th annual Matsuri Japanese Fall Festival is taking place 11 a.m. to midnight Oct. 19 at the Rio hotel-casino. The events will feature 7 ramen shops, martial arts demonstrations, traditional dance and taiko drums, a huge Cosplay contest and a karaoke contest. Tickets are $5 in advance, $8 at the door. St. Somewhere Official Pre-Concert Party
Margaritaville Las Vegas at the Flamingo Las Vegas will kick off its annual Margaritaville weekend parties to coincide with Jimmy Buffet's Las Vegas concerts at the MGM Arena on Oct. 19 and 26. The parties, which start at 11 a.m., will feature free admission, interactive games, great food and drinks, giveaways and live entertainment by Tommy Rocker. More info

Jimmy Buffet
The legendary Jimmy Buffet will perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 27 in the Grand Garden Arena at MGM Grand. Tickets start at $59 plus taxes and fees. More info

XIV Vegas Sessions
Hyde Bellagio's famed monthly party XIV Vegas Sessions is returning Oct. 20. The parties are described as part circus and part electronic dance paradise. The parties feature larger-than-life decorations, hundreds of pounds of confetti, signature champagne showers, outrageous outfits and lots of neon. DJ Julien Nolan, Julian Ingrosso and D4NI3L will spin the tunes. More info

Jason Aldean 2013 Night Train Tour
The Night Train Tour with Jason Aldean, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett will begin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Grand Garden Arena at MGM Grand. Ticket start at $27 plus taxes and fees. More info

Third annual NF Hope Concert
Several Las Vegas Strip headliners including Frankie Moreno, Clint and Kelly Holmes, Human Nature, cast members from "Absinthe" and "Jersey Boys" will perform at the Third Annual NF Hope Concert Oct. 20 at The Venetian. There will also be a silent auction. The concert benefits the NF Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to families and individuals with neurofibromatosis. The show begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $45 to $60. More info
