Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto said candidate for Nye County Sheriff, Rick Marshall, 56, of Pahrump, will face a misdemeanor charge of injury to property.
It's arising from a videotaped incident in which he was recorded removing political campaign signs that urged Nye County residents to vote for "Anybody but Rick for Sheriff."
According to the complaint, Nye County Assistant Sheriff Marshall was found to be in possession, without permission, of signs which belonged to the political action committee (PAC) "Citizens to Elect an Ethical Nye County Sheriff."
Marshall was found in possession of 3 signs.
The maximum penalty for injury to property where there is less than $25 in damage is a $500 fine.
Marshall is expected to appear in court to answer the charge on Sept. 9 at 9 a.m.
