Nevada inmate dies at Las Vegas hospital
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- A Nevada inmate serving a life sentence has died at a Las Vegas hospital.
The Department of Corrections says 59-year-old John D. Jennings died Wednesday at Valley Hospital where he was being treated for a medical condition. No foul play is suspected. Prison officials say an autopsy will be conducted.
Jennings was sentenced to life with possible parole for his conviction in Washoe County on charges of sexual assault and lewdness with a child under 14.
The Department of Corrections says he had been released on two prior occasions, the latest in 1999, and was returned to custody in April of this year for a parole violation.
