UPDATE: Sen. Harry Reid was released from hospital late Friday afternoon. Doctors say he was suffering from exhaustion. He is now resting at home.
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid from Nevada was hospitalized early this morning.
According to a statement from his officer, Reid was "not feeling well" and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Tests were conducted on Reid and everything came back as normal. He will remain in the hospital temporarily for observation as requested by his doctors.
Reid is 74 years old. He suffered a mild stroke in 2005 at the age of 65 but has generally been in good health. In a recent interview, he said that he had no intention leaving his position as a top Senate leader in the near future and wants at least 8 more years.
