North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- More details are being released about a tragedy that left one man dead and two women injured.
The six-hour standoff happened Tuesday evening on Cardigan Avenue in North Las Vegas.
Dozens of neighbors were evacuated when the gunman barricaded himself inside a home.
The SWAT team tried to figure out where the man was barricaded, after he allegedly shot his wife and 24-year-old daughter during an argument.
Police said the daughter was able to run for help at a neighbor's home.
"She was bleeding profusely. She said her father had shot her and her mother. Luckily, she was able to escape the house. She thought her mother was dead," said the neighbor.
Two teenagers also tried to get out of the house. Police said they climbed out a window, but got stuck on the roof.
"I didn't want to get out to help because I didn't want to get shot," said another neighbor.
When police entered the home, the man was dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Neighbors are still on edge, wishing they could have helped prevent what tore the family apart.
Neighbors said the family was friendly and caring, despite having fallen on hard times, putting their house up for sale and filing for a divorce.
Action News spoke with the family, who said they didn't want to comment on the situation. But they did say the woman is in grave condition.
