Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The USA men's basketball team is on an exhibition tour, but their stop in Las Vegas went very badly for one of their players.
Indiana Pacers forward Paul George suffered a gruesome injury on Friday night. He landed the wrong way while trying to stop a drive to the basket and broke his leg.
Players surrounding George and the crowd at UNLV's Thomas & Mack center were nearly silent as medical personnel worked on him. George then left on a stretcher to loud applause.
The rest of the showcase game was canceled.
According to ESPN, George was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The 24-year-old is said to have had a successful surgery at Sunrise Hospital.
