Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas team is heading to the Little League World Series. The Mountain Ridge All-Stars have become the first Nevada team to ever make it this far.

The team scored big on Saturday with an 11-2 victory over Pacifica American in San Bernardino, California.

On Sunday, the team's manager spoke with Action News over the phone. He said the players are excited they've made history.

"You know, the kids say it is something that will never be forgotten," said Ashton Cave, manager for the Mountain Ridge All-Stars. "They get to be that first. And that says a lot and that has a lot of meaning and that's something they'll be able to remember for the rest of their lives."

The team flew to New York and got on a bus headed to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

That's where their next game is on Thursday.
