Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police were called to a fatal motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon.

It happened around 2:10 p.m. on the 2400 block of Western Avenue, near Sahara and I-15.

Police said the motorcyclist crossed over the center line and was traveling northbound in the southbound lane, passing vehicles at a high rate of speed.

A Chrysler 300 was turning left from northbound Western into a parking lot, when the motorcycle struck the Chrysler on the driver's side.

The motorcyclist was ejected after the impact and landed in front of the Chrysler and became partially pinned under the front of the vehicle.

The motorcyclist, identified as 28-year-old Griffith Alexander Grossguth of North Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chrysler was transported to UMC Trauma with minor injuries.

This was the fourth traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas this year.
