Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- On Thursday, Christopher Jones, Jr.'s family spoke out to Action News about the capture of his alleged murderer.

Las Vegas police said suspect Anishya Douglas was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in Ogden, Utah. She'll stay behind bars pending extradition.

Douglas is accused of shooting Jones to death last Wednesday. Police said the two had been fighting the day before over a game of dice and some money.

Jones' family is joyous over the news. They thank God for the arrest. "He did not let me down. I wanted justice and I got it. I got it," said mother Julie Tatum.

On Thursday afternoon, Action News spoke to a man claiming to be Douglas' uncle. Donte Kelley said his niece was acting in self-defense when she pulled the trigger, and that Jones reached for his gun first.

Kelley added the fight the day before was actually an attack on Douglas. He said Jones gave Douglas a black eye and left her with bite marks. He provided photos that he said were taken afterwards.

Tatum told Action News that she plans to be at every one of Douglas' court appearances and she does not want her to face the death penalty. "I want her [to get ] life without [parole] so she can think about what she did, cause she thought about it before she took my baby from me."

Jones' family said his viewing will be held this Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home and his funeral service will be on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Both are open to the public.
