Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The man who crashed into the Egg & I during the busy lunch hour learned his fate on Thursday.
Gage Lindsey was sentenced to 6 to 20 years in prison for a DUI crash that sent his car into the restaurant.
The scene on April 1 was one of utter chaos; diners were covered in blood when Action News arrived on the scene. Some of whom, despite their injuries, were able to chase the driver down, tackling him as he ran from the scene.
Prosecutors said Lindsey was high on marijuana and prescription drugs when he sent his car crashing through the restaurant, injuring ten people.
Having already pleaded guilty to DUI charges, the 20-year-old was teary eyed as he apologized just before receiving his sentence.
Prosecutors dropped charges as part of a plea deal that could've sent Lindsey to jail for up to 80 years. Instead a judge gave him a sentence of 6 to 20 years in prison, with credit for time served.
