MDA Telethon 2013 lineup to include Backstreet Boys, Luke Bryan, others

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The stars will come out this Labor Day weekend for the 48th annual MDA telethon. The MDA Show for Strength, as it is being branded for 2013, will include the Backstreet Boys, Luke Bryan, "Glee" star Matthew Morrison, Darius Rucker, Lee Ann Womack, Enrique Iglesias, Paula Abdul, Austin Mahone, Ryan Seacrest and many more.
The long running TV event, which raises funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association's research programs, will also include appearances by Austin Mahone, Jabbawockeez, "American Idol" runner-up Jessica Sanchez, Kenny Loggins with the Blue Sky Riders, Vintage Trouble and "The Voice" contestant Chris Mann.
In addition, the 2013 telecast will showcase six families served by MDA, ranging from a Houston toddler with spinal muscular atrophy who recently lost his father, to 11-year-old identical twins in Fayetteville, N.Y., who are a part of a clinical trial for their Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The 48th annual telethon will air Sunday, Sept. 1, at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC stations.
