Locals celebrating excitement of royal baby
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- While folks in England go bonkers over the royal baby, here in Las Vegas at the Crown and Anchor Pub on Spring Mountain, some are positively giddy.
Susan Gibeler and Sheryl Witham were there to celebrate. "I'm excited. I'm so excited," said Witham. Gibeler added, "We're going to have a drink for the baby. For that little king."
Both chimed in, "Bubbles for the baby, bubbles for the baby."
A local baby is also royalty, as far as his parents are concerned.
Southern Hills Hospital presented Danielle and Darryl Goldstein with a gift basket. Their newborn son Kristian, and William and Kate's boy share their birthday.
The new mom said, "I am so excited. Been waiting for this day for nine months, and I'm glad that I get to share it with the royal family even though they're so far away."
When asked why Americans are so enthralled with the royal family, Witham said, "Because we need some excitement." Gibeler added, "Yeah, and this is very big excitement, and she's so beautiful."
But their enthusiasm is not shared by all.
On his way into the Crown and Anchor, Tim Teligades made it clear he's not a prince fan, "I feel bad for him. I don't ever want kids. I'm telling you the truth. I'm not trying to be mean."
