Local fast-food workers to go on strike Thursday, want huge raise
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Your fast food may not be so fast this week.
Workers are expected to strike at Las Vegas' major fast-food restaurants on Thursday, including McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s and KFC. Clergy, progressives and community supporters will join fast-food workers on the strike lines.
It's all part of a national campaign to increase wages for fast-food workers.
Right now, protests are planned in 150 cities around the country. Similar protests have already been held.
For nearly two years, McDonald’s and other fast-food workers have been joining together and going on strike, calling for $15 per hour and the right to form a union without retaliation.
