Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting involving an 11-year-old boy.
It happened around 5 a.m. on Monday at a residence on Pebble Beach Boulevard, near Decatur Boulevard and Vegas Drive.
Police said the boy was shot in the head. He was transported to UMC in extremely critical condition.
Police are investigating whether the shooting was accidental or intentional, and who actually fired the weapon.
Action News was told two families with multiple children live inside the home.
"It's pretty tragic to hear that little kid got shot, especially because he was a happy kid. I would see him all the time, he would always say hi to me," said neighbor Eric Machuca.
Police said they haven't talked with the boy's father, but have been interviewing his mother all morning.
"All family members are involved. Right now we don't know whether it was an accident or not, we've just now got into the apartment to collect evidence and document the crime scene, as well as speaking with her," explained Sgt. Matthew Sanford.
No arrests have been made in the shooting.
Police said they have not responded to this home in the past for any domestic issues.
