Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police were called to an auto-pedestrian crash involving a juvenile.
It happened around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday at the 4200 block of Pennwood Avenue, near Arville Street.
Evidence at the scene indicated a 2002 Pontiac Montana Van was traveling northbound on Arville when it ran off the side of the roadway, onto the east sidewalk and struck a 16-year-old girl.
The girl was forced to the ground and the van continued on Arville without stopping.
A citizen was following behind the van on a motorized scooter. That citizen took a photograph of the suspect vehicle and license plate, and presented the photo to police.
The teen was transported to UMC Trauma with serious injuries.
The suspect, 61-year-old Ronald Martin, was apprehended by police when he arrived at the registered address.
Police said he failed field sobriety tests and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for DUI with substantial bodily harm, and felony hit and run.
