Bullhead City, AZ (KTNV) -- A father said he'll now be fighting for custody of his children after their mother, uncle and grandparents were arrested in Bullhead City, Arizona.
They're accused of forcing the kids to live in disgusting conditions deemed unfit for animals, let alone humans.
Daniel Parrott said the last time he saw his kids was a year and a half ago, when his wife moved them to Bullhead City. He said he always feared his children were living in an unsafe environment, but nothing could prepare him for what police found inside.
"They lived in a prison hell," said Parrott.
Before they even entered the house, officers noticed feces coming out from under the front door. Inside they found more feces, trash and cockroaches crawling everywhere.
Investigators said five children were living alongside 22 dogs, adding that neither the kids nor the dogs were allowed outside.
"They could've installed a doggy door even to let the dogs go in and out if they were too lazy to get up," said Parrott.
He said he plans on traveling to Arizona from his home in Southern California with the hopes of getting custody of his children.
