Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Family and friends are remembering the woman gunned down outside a valley restaurant over the weekend.

Deanna Serano, 33, was shot and killed near the Geisha House restaurant on West Flamingo and the 215 early Saturday morning.

Friends gathered Monday night for a vigil. Candles, flowers and photos marked the spot where Serano spent the final moments of her life. She died on the ground of a parking lot with a bullet in her chest, her family said.

"There's nothing I could do to save her life," said boyfriend Richard Lambey.

Lambey, who said he knew Serano since he was nine, was nearby at the time and saw it all happen.

"She couldn't look at me. She couldn't talk to me. Nothing. That was the last thing I heard," Lambey said.

Las Vegas police said a verbal fight inside the restaurant turned physical in the parking lot and eventually led to the shooting outside. Police said a second woman was also shot and taken to University Medical Center; she survived.

"I feel my mom was very loved and very appreciated," said Isaiah Foster, who is one of the victim's four sons.

Foster said his mother worked as a telephone operator at Mandalay Bay.

"She's like the kind of person to get the family together," Foster said.

The emotions at the vigil were raw. Friends wiped away tears and comforted one another. Lambey, the victim's boyfriend, joined a crowd of people in calling on the suspected shooter to turn himself in.

"You did a coward move. You killed my girl. You took her away from four boys. Be a man," Lambey said.

Metro police have identified the suspect as Carim Cruz, 27. Police described Cruz as a black male, 6'2 tall, weighing about 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

Serano's family said, as far as they knew, Cruz was not in custody as of Monday night.
