Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- With just two weeks to go until the start of the new school year in the Clark County School District, it's getting down to the wire for kids to get their back-to-school shots done.
The Southern Nevada Health District is urging families to bring their kids in now to take care of those immunizations before the first day of school on August 25.

At this time, the Clark County School District is also trying to get ready for the classroom by trying to fill hundreds of more open teaching positions.
Last week, CCSD announced it still needed to hire 650 teachers, 150 bus drivers and 150 teacher aides for this upcoming school year.
Since CCSD does not expect to have all of those teaching positions filled by Aug. 25, it plans to use a lot of substitutes.
Just last spring, CCSD said it would be looking to hire a total of about 2,000 teachers for the 2014-15 school year because it is trying to reduce class sizes.
The district is also competing for other states when it comes to hiring new teachers.
