Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- There's a new reason to visit downtown: The new Downtown Container Park opened on Monday.
The unique outdoor mall is a mix of boutiques, bars, restaurants and community space.
It's been under construction for more than a year, but has finally opened its doors to the public.
The Container Park doesn't look like your typical outdoor center. The so-called "buildings" are made up of re-purposed shipping containers and Xtreme cubes, which are made locally.
It also features an outdoor theater, community space, a children's play area and the Catalyst Dome.
Downtown Container Park is part of Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh's Downtown Project's plan to redevelop and revitalize the downtown Las Vegas area.
Current hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays. It will stay open to midnight on the weekends. The park is located within walking distance of the Fremont Street Experience.
The official grand opening of Container Park happens at 10 a.m. on December 5.
