Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The games may have come to a close, but the excitement continues for the Mountain Ridge All-stars.
The team was treated to a parade down the Las Vegas Strip in between ceremonies honoring the players for their fourth place finish at the Little League World Series.
"It means a lot knowing that all of these people were watching us and cheering us on," Brennan Holligan said.
The day started with a ceremony at Las Vegas City Hall, where the players received medals from Mayor Carolyn Goodman, while coach Ashton Cave was presented with a basketball signed by the 1990 champion Runnin’ Rebels.
"We refer to him as the myth, the legend, but to see Tarkanian and be right next to him and him presenting the basketball. It took my breath away," Cave said.
City leaders said it was the least they could do to honor the team for everything it accomplished during the magical run.
"What was more amazing was to watch our community wrap themselves around this team. These boys are a perfect representation of the families that live in the City of Las Vegas," City Councilman Steve Ross said.
The day ended with a second ceremony at Town Square. The players and coaches received gifts and cheers at that event as well.
When the players finally left the stage they were surrounded by hundreds of fans asking for autographs.
"We are just blessed to see that the people in Vegas recognize what we did. It is pretty cool," Austin Kryszczuk said.
While the team is now done with Little League, they are already making plans to help next year's all-star team by handing down Cesar the rally monkey that traveled to Williamsport along with the team.
