CMA music awards take place Wednesday night

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Wednesday is a big night in the world of country music. We are just hours away from the Country Music Association Awards right here on Channel 13.

It's Nashville's night to shine and many stars are set to take the stage.

Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are returning to host country music's biggest night for the 6th consecutive time.

Two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift is the top nominee with six nominations. One of them could win her a third top entertainer of the year honor.

Performances this year will feature collaborations. The Zac Brown Band will perform with Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and reigning CMA New Artist of the Year Hunter Hayes is performing with Jason Mraz.

Also slated to perform are Lady Antebellum, Eric Church, Florida/Georgia Line, Paisley and Underwood.

Country Music Hall of Fame member Kenny Rogers will be honored with a lifetime achievement award.

Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow and "Nashville" star Connie Britton are among the presenters.

There will be also be several surprise guests.

The award show will begin at 8 p.m. on Channel 13.
