Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Clark County School District Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky has announced a reorganization of leadership in the school district.

According to Skorkowsky, the changes were made after receiving input from employees, parents and many other Nevadans,

The changes are meant to ensure that schools will receive more direct support, encourage innovation and increase focus on student results.

The changes are as follows:

Kim Wooden will serve as the District’s new Deputy Superintendent of Educational and Operational Excellence, focusing on the District’s facilities, food services, transportation, special education, gifted and talented, energy conservation, and emergency management departments.

Mike Barton will serve as the District’s Chief Student Achievement Officer. The vast majority of the District’s 357 schools will remain divided into 13 performance zones, each guided by an Academic Manager directly under Barton’s supervision.

Jhone Ebert will serve as the Chief Innovation and Productivity Officer, continuing with her duties of transforming the District’s online and blended learning initiatives for students and most of the District’s 38,000 employees. She also will guide the development of a data management process that will enhance teachers’ and administrators’ ability to make informed decisions.

Staci Vesneske will serve as the Chief Human Capital Officer, overseeing the hiring and onboarding of new employees. Given that nearly 90 percent of the District’s budget is spent on employee salary and benefits, Vesneske will oversee the hiring of our most valuable resource: people.

Andre Denson will serve as Chief Educational Opportunity Officer, working to cultivate a welcoming and productive environment for all students, staff and parents within the District’s 357 schools.

According to the press release, the cost of the reorganization is "neutral."
