Arizona couple arrested for child abuse, drug charges
Mohave County, NV (KTNV) -- Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested two Kingman residents for child abuse, misconduct with a weapon, production of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
24-year-old Jessica Rose Berry and 25-year-old Thomas Raymond Ogden were arrested on Friday.
Deputies were dispatched to meet with Child Protective Service agents. The agents said there was reported drug usage by Berry and Ogden at their home, in front of their two children, ages 5 and 3.
Deputies responded to the home and contacted Ogden, who said he had just smoked marijuana that morning. Deputies contact Berry and took her into custody without incident. She had two active warrants against her.
While deputies were speaking with Ogden, they observed a glass pipe with burnt residue lying on the coffee table.
A search of the home revealed some of the drug paraphernalia items were laying on the ground in reach of the children.
The following items were confiscated: Small marijuana plant, glass water-based pipe, glass pipe with residue, three grinders with marijuana residue, plastic bag containing marijuana, an SKS rifle and a variety of ammunition.
CPS removed both children from the house and they were placed with relatives.
During the investigation, deputies determined the residence hadn't had running water for eight months.
Berry and Ogden were transported to the Mohave County Jail.
