Clark County, NV (KTNV) -- Firefighters were called to an apartment fire early Monday morning.

It happened around 4:45 a.m. at the Rancho Del Sol Apartments at 4201 West Rochelle, near Flamingo and Valley View.

The initial information reported to 911 was that this fire was related to an active domestic disturbance.

The Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded with a "high" level structural fire dispatch.

When crews arrived, heavy fire was coming from one of the apartment units.

At the time of the fire department's arrival, Las Vegas police had controlled the domestic disturbance situation. Medical crews assessed one of the occupants for smoke inhalation, but the occupant was not transported to the hospital.

The fire did not extend beyond the apartment of origin. Several adjoining apartments suffered varying degrees of smoke damage, and the apartment on the first floor had water damage.

Damage was estimated at $75,000.

The American Red Cross is assisting six adults and three children following the fire.
