Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Classes have been canceled at Durango High School on Dewey Drive for Wednesday due to an air conditioning outage.
According to a spokesperson with Clark County School District, the students will make up the day on Nov. 4 which was supposed to be a staff development day.
"There are a number of schools having air conditioning problems. We're doing everything we can to get all those schools up and fully functional," said Carolyn Edwards, CCSD Board of Trustees president.
Durango High School students were sent home at noon on Tuesday after the air conditioning stopped working.
As of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, CCSD said the air conditioning system at Durango High School was running smoothly and classes will resume Thursday as normal.
If the system fails again, the district will monitor air temps to ensure student safety and release students by 10:40 a.m.
