Northwest neighborhoods also dealing with foam

By Joyce Lupiani. CREATED Aug 27, 2013

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Residents of the northwest area aren't just dealing with rushing water and debris from Sunday's storm.

Mounds of foam are spewing from storm drains in the area.

Officials said the foam is caused by leftover fire retardant in the drainage system. The retardant most likely came from the recent Carpenter 1 wildfire in the Mount Charleston area.

One of the neighborhoods affected was the Twilight North development near Grand Teton Drive and North El Capitan Way.

City crews have been working to remove the foam since Monday.
