Climber seriously injured in fall at Red Rock
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A climber fell Tuesday morning in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
The incident happened around 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Personnel from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to the accident, treated and transported the victim to a waiting medical helicopter.
Firefighters had to hike in about a quarter mile to treat the victim. They brought the victim out by foot on a stretcher to the helicopter.
The victim was transported to UMC Trauma with serious injuries, but the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said the victim fell approximately 30-40 feet while doing recreational climbing in the canyon.
The victim was climbing with other people, and the incident appeared to be an accident.
