Supreme court hears case of Onion the dog
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The fate of Onion, the Mastiff-Rhodesian Ridgeback mix that mauled a one-year-old to death, is now in the hands of a judge.
On Wednesday, the Nevada Supreme Court heard arguments on whether the dog should be put down or protected by an animal activist group.
Henderson lawyers said the city has a responsibility to put the dog down after it was deemed vicious.
But the Lexus Project, a New York-based animal group, wants to send the dog to a Colorado sanctuary.
No word yet on when the final ruling will come down.
