Jabbawockeez celebrate new show with grand opening
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The world-famous dance crew Jabbawockeez will officially kick off its new residency at the Luxor hotel and casino on May 31.
The new show is titled "PRiSM" and promises to be its most expansive yet. According to the Las Vegas Weekly, the show borrows from the character of Willy Wonka.
During the show, the dance crew uses the full prism (of color). They also feature all music genres in an effort to appeal to all audience members.
The press release describes the show as "a celebration of imagination blending awe-inspiring choreography, entertaining story lines, vivid costumes and chart-topping hits for a family-friendly production that will leave guests of all ages dancing in their seats."
The Luxor built a new theater for the show on its second level. The theater features 830 seats and the dance crew will perform eight times a week.
The dance crew shot to fame after winning during the first season of "America's Best Dance Crew."
They made their Las Vegas debut on May 7, 2010, with a limited engagement at MGM Grand.
From there, the Jabbawockeez performed at the Monte Carlo for two years.
Celebrities expected to attend Friday's grand opening include Randy Jackson, Holly Madison, Fernando Vargas, Angel Porrino and Melody Sweets of "Absinthe," cast members of "Human Nature," Josh Strickland. and cast members from "Menopause the Musical," "Rock of Ages," "Thunder From Down Under" and more.
The new show had its soft opening earlier this month.
An after-party will take place at the LAX Nightclub at the Luxor and will feature a special live set to commemorate the start of the new show at the Luxor.
