Las Vegas police conducting sobriety checkpoint Memorial Day weekend
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you decided to have a few beers or cocktails at a Memorial Day barbecue or party, make sure you have a designated driver or stay off the roads altogether.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has announced plans for a sobriety checkpoint on May 24. In addition, DUI saturation patrols will be roaming the valley.
The checkpoint will take place from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. on the east side of the valley near Vegas Valley Drive and Marion Street, near East Desert Inn Road.
Officers at the checkpoint will be looking for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The checkpoint and patrols are sponsored by the Enforcing Under Age Drinking Laws Grant.
