Suspects in iPad robbery death appear in Las Vegas court
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Michael Solid and Jacob Dismont appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom Tuesday morning.
The two men are accused of stealing an iPad from a 15-year-old boy and causing his death.
Solid, 21, and Dismont, 18, were each appointed a public defender.
The judge set a court date of May 23 to set bail and set a date for the preliminary hearing.
Solid and Dismont are facing charges of murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Las Vegas police said the duo was looking for potential victims in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive on May 16.
They spotted Marcos Arenas walking with his iPad.
Police say that Dismont jumped out of a vehicle and grabbed the iPad.
Arenas held onto the device and was dragged and then ran over after the suspect got back into his vehicle.
