 Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Mother's Day in Las Vegas will be a sunny and hot one in Southern Nevada. 

An area of high pressure will bring temperatures to 97 degrees in Las Vegas on Sunday. Laughlin and Searchlight could see temperatures in the low 100s. 

Last year, May 16 was the first triple-digit day in Las Vegas. This year, Las Vegas is supposed to hit 100 degrees for the first time on Monday the 13th. 

Tuesday will also see temperatures hit 100 degrees before highs settle into the mid-90s for the rest of the week.
