House fire in Henderson displaces four occupants

Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- The Henderson Fire Department battled a house fire on Ocean Avenue near South Water Street and South Major Avenue.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

When crews arrived, heavy smoke and flames were coming from the roof of the home.

The attack crews were unable to stop the progression of the fire and were ordered out of the structure. They continued the attack from the exterior, bringing the fire under control within 20 minutes.

Several residents were in the house when it started. They called 911 and evacuated the home.

No injuries were reported.

Four adults were displaced and were assisted by the American Red Cross and extended family.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Damage was estimated at $100,000.
