Alleged pimp due in court on Monday
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A judge gave prosecutors until Monday to file charges against a 28-year-old suspected pimp who's accused of threatening, beating and torturing a woman when she tried to quit working as his prostitute.
Attorney Michael Troiano said Friday that Arman Izadi plans to plead not guilty and seek bail following his arrest on 15 criminal charges including pandering, kidnapping, coercion with threat of force, transporting an adult for prostitution, battery and strangulation.
Izadi was arrested Wednesday and police searched several floors at a Las Vegas Boulevard high-rise where he owned condominiums.
A police report alleges that Izadi cut the woman on the leg, beat her in a shower and at one point put a wet towel over her face and suffocated her in an experience she described as being "water boarded.
