Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Some of Nevada's brightest students competed Friday in the 25th annual Geography Bee at Tarkanian Middle School.

The kids tested their knowledge of the world around them in preliminary rounds.

Each state winner receives $100, The Complete National Geographic on DVD and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. for the national finals in May.

The national competition will be moderated by Alex Trebek, and the winner will take home a $25,000 scholarship.
