Low voter turnout expected for Primary Election Day
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It is Primary Election Day today and polls in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson will open at 7 a.m.
Several races for city offices could be determined today even though officials are expecting a record low voter turnout.
The latest numbers show roughly a 5 percent turnout is expected in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson.
Residents in all three cities are voting on city council members and Henderson and North Las Vegas also have mayors up for re-election.
In North Las Vegas, votes will decide between former state senator John Lee and incumbent Shari Buck.
Voters in Henderson will decide if their current mayor Andy Hafen will keep his job or one of the six other candidates will take over.
