Police called to apparent murder-suicide at San Tropez Apartments
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in the Valley.
Two people are dead in what's believed to be a murder-suicide; a third person was injured.
It happened Friday evening at the San Tropez Apartments near Russell Road and Buffalo Drive.
SWAT officers responded to the scene and made entry into the apartment where they found a deceased woman with apparent gunshot wounds, and a dead male with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police believe the suspect came home to find his wife and male victim inside the apartment.
The suspect began firing several gunshots inside the apartment, striking the victim as he jumped from the second story balcony.
The victim was transported to UMC Trauma where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
Neighbors were evacuated from the complex.
One woman said she's never seen anything like this, "Very quiet. Kids always running around. Just a very quiet community; it's been a great complex. I guess it can happen anywhere."
The identities of the people involved have not been released.
