Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Making dreams come true one small business at a time.
The Downtown Project is taking ideas to another level and at the same time, transforming Downtown Las Vegas.
Eight months ago, Natalie Young was on her way out of town; she had had it with Las Vegas. Until she was given an offer she couldn't refuse for her restaurant.
"Eat" opened just over a month ago, fully funded by the Downtown Project. It was put together by a group of investors, led by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, with the purpose of revitalizing Downtown Las Vegas.
Ernie Loya's BBQ restaurant will be one of the first inside the much-anticipated Container Park, slated to open next summer on 7th and Fremont.
Approved by the city council just two weeks ago, the structure will be made out of used shipping containers and extreme cubes, manufactured right here in Las Vegas.
It will be home to mostly new small businesses, from restaurants to retail.
