Halloween DUI patrol in honor of Faith Love
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department honored the memory of Faith Love by conducting a Halloween DUI checkpoint Wednesday night.
12-year-old Love was struck and killed by an impaired driver while trick-or-treating last Halloween.
The area of Flamingo and Paradise was chosen for the checkpoint. Statistics show a large number of people driving impaired in that location every year.
But, the focus wasn't just there. Law enforcement officers did saturation patrols throughout the valley. They were looking for any possible signs that a driver should not be behind the wheel.
Police say Halloween marks the beginning of the most dangerous time of year on valley roadways. The checkpoints and saturation patrols are expected to increase throughout the upcoming holiday season.
