Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- About 35,000 people showed up this morning from around the valley for the 18th annual Summerlin Patriotic Parade.

Not only was the parade itself a spectacle, the crowd was dressed in their best patriotic attire to celebrate the nation's birthday.

People started lining up along Hills Center Drive and Trailwood Drive early this morning to nab the best spot along the parade route.

There were more than 60 entries in this year's parade -- the largest one yet.

Celebrations will continue throughout the valley today and tonight.

Station Casinos will put on a spectacular display from five of its locations.

Fireworks can also be seen in at Knickerbocker Park in northwest Las Vegas; Million Hills Park in Henderson; Veteran's Memorial Park in Boulder City; and Buffalo Bill's in Primm Valley.

The Las Vegas 51s will also put on a display following its game that starts at 7:05 p.m. tonight.

A special Fourth of July show will featured on the canopy at the Fremont Street Experience and 3 Doors Down will perform at 9 p.m. on the 3rd Street Stage.

Several hotels on the Strip will host pool parties throughout the day and deejays will spin the latest music at many of the nightclubs into the early morning hours.

Free admission is being offered at all the Clark County outdoor pools and waterparks, including those in outlying areas such as Logandale, Laughlin and Overton.
