LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 22-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a Las Vegas mother and daughter and nearly killing their husband and father with a hammer has pleaded not guilty in an unrelated domestic violence case.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Bryan Devonte Clay Jr. appeared in court Thursday on two counts of child abuse and neglect and one count of robbery. He's accused of at least two assaults earlier this year on his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, who's pregnant with his child.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Clay in a separate case.

He's accused of the April 15 attacks that left Ignacia "Yadira" Martinez and 10-year-old Karla Martinez dead, and Arturo Martinez seriously injured.

Authorities say Clay told detectives he was under the influence and didn't remember the attacks.
