Mom accused in scissor stabbing waives hearing
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The local mother accused of killing her daughter appeared in court on Tuesday. 27-year-old Danielle Slaughter waived her evidentiary hearing without entering a plea.
Slaughter is charged with murder in the death of her daughter Kyla last month.
Police say she told them she stabbed her little girl to death after the girl said "evil words" and laughed "in an evil voice."
Police found Slaughter running around naked and bloody in the streets near her home in northwest Las Vegas.
Slaughter's next court appearance is scheduled for May 3. Her attorney is reportedly planning an insanity defense.
