Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas Little League team is playing Tuesday night for the first time since one of their teammates died just before a game.

Spencer Melvin collapsed as he was walking to his game last week. His heart stopped and emergency medical responders were unable to revive him.

Before Tuesday's game at Red Ridge Park, the team held a special ceremony and a moment of silence before taking the field. They also wore a special patch to honor Spencer.

The children on the team have had a difficult week handling the loss of a friend.

To make matters even more tragic, Spencer's father and brother are the coaches of the team. They were with Spencer, walking to the game last Tuesday, when he collapsed at Rainbow Family Park.

Little League teams from around Las Vegas and around the country have shown an outpouring of support for the team and family since the tragedy.

Spencer's family believes his death was the result of an undetected heart condition.
