Tim Tebow speeches draw thousands to Las Vegas church
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- NFL quarterback Tim Tebow drew thousands of additional worshipers to a Las Vegas church during a series of speaking engagements over the weekend.
The main auditorium of Canyon Ridge Christian Church seats 3,000 people and a viewing tent was constructed outside to accommodate an additional 2,000 people.
Tebow spoke during two different sessions on Saturday, and will speak again for two more sessions on Sunday.
Canyon Ridge was selected as one of only seven churches around the country to receive visits from Tebow this spring.
"I think part of the reason he chose Las Vegas is because he knows that people here need help in getting their relationship with God right," says senior pastor Kevin Odor.
The Broncos quarterback has been outspoken about his faith and has received attention for starting the 'Tebowing' craze after kneeling to pray on the football field.
"He will be the sermon per se. It will be a 40 minute interview where we'll be able to dive into his story and find out why he believes what he believes, what's behind his actions, to dive into the story," says Odor.
The church is expecting to see a lot of fresh faces at the services which will run over two days, Saturday and Sunday.
Admission will be free and first come, first serve.
